
ABC AFTERSCHOOL SPECIAL: RUNAWAYS (TV)
Summary
One in this series of dramas intended for young audiences. In this drama, Cindy, a teen-age diabetic, runs away after learning that her mother plans to remarry and possibly send her to boarding school. She becomes good friends with a boy named Francis, who teaches her how to get by on her own. One day, Cindy loses her insulin while running from a police officer, who recognizes her as a runaway. Francis and Cindy find a place to stay for the night. While Cindy is sleeping, Francis tries to steal more insulin for her and is caught by the police. He is taken to the station where he meets Cindy's mother. He refuses to tell anyone where Cindy is until her mother explains how important it is that Cindy gets the insulin she needs. Meanwhile, Cindy wakes up and finds that she is alone and extremely ill. Commercials deleted.
