JACKIE GLEASON SHOW, THE {THE HONEYMOONERS: MOVE UPTOWN} (TV)
Summary
One in this comedy/variety series featuring Jackie Gleason. This program begins with The June Taylor Dancers performing "I'm Just Wild About Harry." Instead of his usual monologue, Gleason explains the end of the previous week's sketch of "The Honeymooners," entitled "Stand-In for Murder," which was cut off when the program ran out of airtime. Also, three little girls sing "The Noodling Rag," and Gleason asks the audience to write in with possible names to dub the trio. In "The Honeymooners" sketch, Ralph and Alice decide to move uptown into a beautiful apartment in the Bronx that costs only $15 a month more than their current rent. However, they cannot move out of their current apartment until they find someone to sublet, and the Kramdens have trouble finding someone who is interested in renting. The Kramdens and the Nortons begin to realize how much they will miss living in the same building; nonetheless, Ralph plans to fool their landlord and their superintendent, Mrs. Monahan, so that they can move. Includes commercials and a public service announcement.
This program contains minor technical problems. This represents the best copy currently available to the Museum.
