Summary

One in this comedy/variety series. After an opening dance number including a sequence shot from above, Gleason introduces music director Sammy Spear. Following segments include Jack Benny talking with Gleason; Robert Goulet singing "I'll Catch the Sun" and "Those Were the Days"; Alan King in his stand-up routine about the medical profession; Benny in a monologue and playing his violin, accompanied by the orchestra; and Jack Haley singing a medley of songs from movies and Broadway shows. Gleason, the other guests, and the June Taylor Dancers join Haley for a final song before Gleason says goodnight. Includes commercials for Schick Krona-Chrome razor blades; Biz laundry detergent, with Eddie Albert; Zest soap; Tareyton cigarettes; Sunshine Hydrox cookies; Kentucky Fried Chicken, with Colonel Sanders; Maxwell House coffee, with skater Barbara Ann Scott; Post Grape Nuts cereal; and Zenith portable televisions.

(Series title varies; "The Jackie Gleason Show" from 1952-1961 and 1966-1970; "Jackie Gleason and His American Scene Magazine" from 1962-1966. "The Honeymooners" spin-off replaced the variety series 1955-1956.)
