NEW ADVENTURES OF WONDER WOMAN, THE {A.K.A. WONDER WOMAN}: THE RETURN OF WONDER WOMAN {SEASON TWO PREMIERE} (TV)

Summary

One in this series of adventures based on the comic book character created by Charles Moulton.

In this episode, government agent Major Steve Trevor leads a secret mission to Latin America. A team of nuclear scientists headed by Steve flies to the country of Samarra to help establish a nuclear installation there for the U.S. government. However, their every move is surveyed by Dr. Solano, who has his own mission -- to take the nuclear power for himself and rule the world. When one of Dr. Solano's henchmen tries to intercept the plane, the crew loses control, and the plane flies into Paradise Island, an unchartered area near Bermuda, where it can no longer be tracked.

On Paradise Island a tribe of Amazon women live a secret existence; among the tribe is Diana Prince, known to the world as Wonder Woman from her World War II-era foray into civilization. When Diana and the other women of Paradise Island see the plane overhead, they use all powers at their command to rescue the team of scientists and gather information about the secret mission. The leaders of the Amazons then decide that Diana, who has not been among humans since World War II, should make another foray into the outside world so that plans for the nuclear installation do not fall into the wrong hands.

Diana masquerades as an ordinary woman to join the team of scientists as Steve's assistant. The Amazons then send the plane to Samarra so that the negotiations for the nuclear installation can continue. Meanwhile, Dr. Solano continues his efforts to steal the nuclear power from the U.S. government, with the assistance of Gloria, his partner in crime. When Dr. Solano and Gloria stumble upon Diana''s true identity, they realize that help is needed to defeat Wonder Woman. Dr. Solano consequently brings out a special weapon he has been designing -- a robot with limitless power that can be made to look human. The battle between good and evil comes to a climax when Wonder Woman and the robot face off to determine who will gain control of the nuclear power. Commercials deleted.
