
JACK BENNY PROGRAM, THE: THE NEW TALENT SHOW (TV)
Summary
One in this comedy series starring Jack Benny. On this program, Benny decides to hold a talent show where amateur performers can show off their wide variety of talents. Highlights include: the first performer, Mr. Finque (played by Mel Blanc), specializes in imitations of animals, especially dogs and horses; the next performer, to Benny's surprise, is the show's announcer Don Wilson; Wilson does his impression of Ted Lewis's "Me and My Shadow" with his son Harlow (played by Dale White), acting as his shadow; next up are the Renaldi Brothers, who perform a sharp-shooting act in which one brother shoots bullets at the other, who then dodges them; the final performers are the Sentimental Sweethearts Orchestra, a group of elderly ladies who are all members of Benny's fan club; they ask Benny to play the violin for their rendition of "Sweet Georgia Brown," and he obliges. Commercials deleted.
