NOVA: WHO SHOT PRESIDENT KENNEDY? (TV)
Summary
One in this series of science documentaries. This program examines the scientific evidence used in the Warren Commission's explanation of the assasination of President John F. Kennedy. Several experiments conducted at the time of the assassination are reproduced in an attempt to refute the finding that Lee Harvey Oswald acted alone when he shot the president. The program also looks at the House investigation that ended in 1979, which questioned aspects of the Warren Commission's conclusion. Photographs and film of the assasination are closely examined in an effort to find a second gunman at the site. With the permission of the National Archives, the four doctors who attempted to save the president view the autopsy pictures and discredit the theory that the president's body was tampered with. The program concludes with a review of the different theories about the assassination. (There are minor audio disturbances during some of the interview portions of the program.)
Acquisition and cataloging of this program was made possible by a grant from the Corporation for Public Broadcasting.
