BURN NOTICE: DEVIL YOU KNOW (TV)
Summary
One in this series about a covert operative trying to discover why he’s been “burned” by his top-secret intelligence agency – branding him unemployable and under constant surveillance. After barely escaping from Simon’s attempt to kill him, Michael goes on the run. With Sam Gilroy dead and Simon free, the police and FBI mistakenly pursue Michael. Evading capture, Michael meets up with Fiona and Sam. However, Madeline is cornered by FBI Agent Callahan before she can rendezvous with her son. Unbeknownst to Agent Callahan, she warns Michael to stay away from home during a phone call. Michael tracks Simon to a television store, where he confronts him at gunpoint. Simon reveals that Management deemed him "too dangerous" and transferred his record of deadly bombings to Michael's file, resulting in Michael receiving his burn notice. Simon then shows Michael that a hotel is rigged to explode if he doesn’t bring Management to Miami -- thus giving Simon the chance to kill Management and "get his own life back." Michael reluctantly agrees and relays the situation to Sam, urging him and Fiona to find Simon’s latest bomb before it’s too late. Meanwhile, Madeline looks at file photos of the bombings attributed to Michael as Agent Callahan attempts to make her reveal Michael’s location. She capitulates, but the FBI finds nothing at the assigned meeting place. Just then, Sam and Fiona locate the house of explosives dealer Keith. Crashing through the living room wall in their car, they apprehend Keith and he confesses to rigging the bomb for Simon, telling them the location. After considerable planning, Michael sneaks into his loft and calls Management. They arrange for Management to bring a team with him to take out Simon, with Michael acting as Management’s “insurance.” Minutes later, Simon and Michael are spotted by the FBI; in the process of escaping, the reckless Simon causes a massive traffic pileup. When Agent Callahan hears the news, he offers Madeline an ultimatum: cooperate, or she’ll end up in federal prison. Fiona and Sam track down the bomb and prevent the hotel from being destroyed. Meanwhile, Simon reveals he has his own team of people waiting to "assist him" with Management; he abandons Michael until the hour of the meeting. As Agent Callahan informs Madeline of what he believes is Michael’s attempt to bomb the hotel, she refuses to cooperate. Agent Callahan then arrests her. Michael goes alone to meet Management, but it is a trap and Management’s helicopter is exploded by Simon as soon as it's empty. Simon arrives on the scene disguised as a security officer and tries to kill Michael and Management, but Michael escapes and Simon captures Management. Michael meets up with Sam and Fiona and tells them to alert the FBI to his position after seeing Simon commandeer an ambulance into which Management was herded. Michael stops the ambulance by chasing it down with a truck and then ramming it. In the ensuing struggle, Michael pins Simon and is about to kill him when Management warns him to stop. The police arrive and Michael surrenders, after which Simon taunts him about his future. Madeline, sitting in a holding room for hours, is told by Agent Callahan that he’s off the case following Michael's apprehension. He tells her that Michael was quickly taken out of their custody, hooded and in chains. Later, a disoriented Michael finds himself not in prison, but in a well-furnished room facing book-lined walls and a fruit basket. Segments from a future episode follow. Commercials deleted.
