COUGAR TOWN: WHEN THE TIME COMES (TV)

Summary

One in this comedy series about the misadventures of an eccentric, wine-loving group of friends, lovers and family in Gulfhaven, Florida. In this episode, Grayson tries to tell Jules that her hugs are too "intense" as Travis and a friend, Kevin, arrive for Thanksgiving dinner. Laurie is shocked when Andy casually admits that he lost his cell phone, unable to imagine life without hers and annoyed by his endlessly optimistic nature. Bobby is frustrated when a barista cannot understand his idiosyncratic speech pattern and the rest of the gang agrees that he is frequently incomprehensible. Ellie and Laurie are irked when a Good Samaritan returns Andy's cell phone, proving his point about life working out for the best, and they scheme to destroy his sunny outlook. Grayson is flustered when he and Jules run into his ex-wife at the grocery store, but he explains that he is happy with Jules and wants to show her off as his girlfriend. When Jules declares her love for him, however, he responds with a simple "thank you."

Travis annoys Kevin with his musical video chats with his girlfriend, and Jules tells Laurie and Ellie that Grayson merely needs "a little push" to affirm his love for her and decides to make it a "romantic Thanksgiving." She orders her guests to dress nicely, prompting Laurie to go through several costume changes, and Ellie secretly steals Andy's wedding ring, hoping that the loss will disrupt his sense of positivity. Bobby remains upset about his unintelligible speech and eventually refuses to speak at all, and Grayson suffers an allergic reaction to Jules' oyster stuffing and flees the house. Andy takes the loss of the ring in stride, sure that it happened "for a reason," and Jules worries that her relationship with Grayson is over because of her premature declaration and tells the guys to change clothes. Laurie and Ellie realizes that they lost the ring for real and confess the scheme to Andy, who then happens to find the ring on the lawn. When Jules resolves to confront Grayson about his love for her, Andy urges her to "chill" and let the relationship take its natural course. Bobby receives some kind advice from an equally-marble-mouthed Kevin, and Grayson soon rejoins the dinner and Jules assures him that he can share his emotions at his own pace. Later, the guests turn Kevin and Bobby's mumbles into a parlor game. Includes commercials and promos.
