NOW AND AGAIN: I'VE GROWN ACCUSTOMED TO HIS FACE (TV)

Summary

One in this drama series about a genetically engineered man implanted with a middle-aged accident victim's brain, inspiring him to try to reconnect with his beloved family. This program begins on day one at 6 a.m. as Theodore awakens Michael. Michael is bored with his monotonous life. Theodore tells Michael that the next day they will go to the mountains for survival training. At 7:58 p.m., Heather tells Lisa that an award show is about to start. Lisa responds that she's too busy studying for her realtors' license exam. On day two at 6 a.m., Michael is not awakened and gets ready with no prodding. Meanwhile, Heather gets up to find her mother having slept on the couch all night, with her realtors' exam book beside her. Michael trips the facility's alarm and Theodore doesn't come by, but a complaining neighbor does. Later, Lisa is visited by a man named Isley looking for Michael. Eventually, the alarm is shut off by some gun-wielding men in bio-suits. They tell Michael to come with them and that they'll bring him to Theodore. Once in their van, Michael uses his incredible strength to escape from the men.

Meanwhile, Roger is also visited by Isley, still searching for Michael. Michael goes to a pay phone and reports that Theodore has been kidnapped but it is to no avail. He also struggles in vain to find Theodore's home phone number. Michael uses his athletic skills to acquire some money in a street performance. It enables him to relieve a sweet-tooth craving via some peanut butter cups, but he is still unable to locate Theodore. Michael goes to a police station to report Theodore missing but no one believes his stories. Meanwhile, Lisa and Roger compare notes on their visits from Isley. Eventually, the police figure out who Theodore is and bring Michael to people that claim to be looking for him -- the bio-suit men. Again, Michael is forced to flee. Meanwhile, Roger goes to Lisa and Heather and the three discuss why men are after Michael when he is seemingly dead. Isley suddenly appears and asks Lisa and Roger who they are protecting. Isley guides Lisa and Roger to Michael's compound, but they refuse to believe he lives there.

At the same time, Michael sneaks back into the compound but the bio-suit men are still there playing cards. Michael finds a secret surveillance room in the compound which enables him to watch Lisa and Roger, who have been brought into the building. Lisa and Roger continue to insist that government worker Mr. Newman lives there and that Michael is dead. Then, Isley questions Lisa and Roger on whether they know about Theodore and his project. Before Isley can reveal about Theodore's "ethical dilemma," Michael turns on the sprinklers, forcing Lisa and Roger to flee. He later hears Isley mention the name Mr. Leflin and the address where they'll meet. Michael follows Isley and finds himself at a funeral service for Mr. Leflin, who supposedly died a day ago. Michael meets up with Isley at the memorial service, demanding that he take him to Theodore. Meanwhile, Roger insists that a waffling Lisa take her realty test. Isley finally takes Michael to Theodore, who is bound and gagged, then trains a gun on Michael. Isley asks Theodore to accept his proposition. Theodore claims that he never transplanted a brain into a bio-engineered body. Then, from a back room, Mr. Leflin enters via wheelchair, telling his son Isley that they are obviously mistaken about the rumors surrounding Theodore's experiment. The sickly and wealthy Mr. Leflin declares his disappointment that his brain can't be implanted into a healthy body. When Isley leaves the room to ask Theodore not to press charges, Mr. Leflin commits suicide. Finally, Lisa returns home and tells Heather that she probably aced her realty test. Commercials deleted.
