OLYMPIC WINTER GAMES, THE XVII {1994 LILLEHAMMER OLYMPICS}: DAY 3 {PART 1 OF 5} (TV)

Summary

This program presents a portion of coverage of the 1994 XVII Olympic Winter Games from Lillehammer. Highlights of this portion include coverage of the following events and topics: Anchor sports commentator Harry Smith presides throughout this portion and introduces segments and highlights of various sports and stories. Reporting from the Northern Lights Hall in Hamar, sports commentator Paula Zahn reports on the practice sessions for the upcoming individual women’s figure skating championships, as well as pairs figure skating. Sports commentator Mark McEwen continually reports from Storgata in downtown Lillehammer, speaks with residents, visitors, and fans, and reports on some of the local color and culture of Lillehammer. He also reports on local weather around the United States. Reporting from Hunderfossen, sports commentators Bonny Warner and Sean McDonough recap the results of the previous day’s men’s luge competition, particularly on a crash suffered by Duncan Kennedy (USA). Sports commentator Mike Barkann interviews Jansen’s wife Robin Jansen in the Viking Ship about the upcoming 500-meter race.
