Ryan and Mill cover the giant slalom runs of Thomas Sykora (Austria) and Peter Roth (Germany), neither of whom finish the race.

Ryan and Mill cover the final two contenders in the men's giant slalom Kjetil Andre Aamodt (Norway), who does not finish the race, and Stangassinger, who finishes with a time of 2:02.02, sufficient to win the gold medal.

Ryan covers the men's alpine giant slalom medal winners Stangassinger, Tomba, and Jure Kosir (Slovakia), who won bronze.

Nantz highlights skier Picabo Street (USA), who returns home to Salt Lake City to show off her silver medal.

Sports commentator James Hattori covers the future home of the 1998 Winter Olympic Games, Nagano, Japan.

Nantz highlights skier Vladimir Smirnov (Kazakhstan), the first gold medalist from his country, as well as bobsledder Harald Czudaj (Germany) and the men's hockey game between Canada and Sweden.
