SID AND MARTY KROFFT'S LOST SAUCER: THE TINY YEARS (TV)
Summary
The premiere of this children's series about androids Fi and Fum and two earthlings named Jerry and Alice, who are aboard a saucer that is lost in time and space.
The saucer crash-lands on earth in the year 2465 and cannot take off again due to damage it sustained. The Dorse runs outside, where he is spotted by a miniscule man, who reports to his superiors via radio that "the biggies" have invaded. Jerry goes to look for the Dorse while Fi and Fum repair the ship. Along the way, Jerry takes a nap and is found by a group of miniscule people, who tie him to the ground. The miniscule people introduce themselves as "Littleniks" and explain that they are angry at "biggies" like Jerry due to their wanton misuse of natural resources. They go on to explain that their scientists created a shrinking process in order to cope with the planet's dwindling resources.
Fi and Fum go to search both for water to power the saucer and for Jerry. The mayor of the Littleniks wants the "biggies" to leave immediately, as their presence is starting to cause pollution and destruction. Fi and Fum discover the Littlenik capital city and get into an argument with the mayor, who gives them five minutes to leave the planet or they'll be arrested. The mayor attempts to conceal the fact that they have captured Jerry, but Fi is suspicious and she and Fum take to the air via jet boots to search for him. They are unsuccessful and must soon return to the saucer to recharge. A delegation of Littleniks arrives at the ship to demand that Fi, Fum, and Alice leave. The two sides argue before the mayor agrees to come inside for a sandwich.
The Dorse locates Jerry, frees him, and brings him back to the saucer. Fi, Fum, and Alice are happy to see Jerry safe, but the Dorse accidentally pushes the mayor down a ventilation duct. In order to save him, Fi and Fum shrink themselves down and pull him out of the vent with Jerry's shoelace. The grateful mayor gives Fi and Fum the water they need, and they part ways on friendlier terms. Commercials deleted.
