Ralph has a bowling tournament in one hour and becomes furious when he learns Alice has not prepared dinner yet. Ralph hurts his thumb trying to open a can of beans with a hammer. He says it's swollen and fears he will not be able to bowl. Then he tries on the bowling ball and gets his thumb stuck. Alice and Norton get the ball off, but his finger is still swollen. Ralph complains about being unlucky. Alice reminds him that he hurt the thumb on his left hand and then he remembers that he bowls with his right. They make up.

Woman in medium-toned skirt, very dark top with white cuffs and collar, and a hat with a feather is sitting in a chair. He has a cane and a small mustache. He takes off some of the paraphenalia. He pours himself a drink into a shoe and says "Yum yum."
