HOW TO GET THE GUY {EPISODE 2} (TV)
Summary
One in this reality series which follows four young San Francisco women as they try to land "the" guy, coached by love experts along the way. In this episode, which focuses on "managing your expectations," Michelle talks to her mother about her high dating standards, and a massage client tells Alissa that she deserves a "late-stage prince." Coaches JD and Teresa ask Anne about her date with Dennis, and she reports that it went well and ended with a kiss. They advise her not to call him and to go out with someone else in the meantime, and the four women venture into the world of online dating. They work to create inviting, interesting profiles, though their first round of dates does not go particularly well. Michelle then hits it off with wine expert Chuck, however, and Anne enjoys her time with Jimmy.
Next, the women undergo a "Dating Blind" segment in which they all have a three-course meal with three different men while blindfolded. They try to judge their dates solely by their voices and comments, and at the end of the evening they each pick their favorite man and share a dessert without the blindfolds. They discuss the dinner with the coaches, noting that their emotional instincts took over when deprived of sight. Later, Dennis calls Anne for a second date, and they stroll on the beach discussing their families. Michelle chats with a friend, also named Michelle, who tells her that she has a potential blind date for her. Kris goes out with Josh, whom she dated briefly in the past, and after dinner and a nighttime stroll on a pier, she concludes that the evening went very well. Alissa makes plans to see Joey from the blindfolded evening, and JD and Teresa give her tips about "the art of dinner." Joey surprises her with a gift and asks her to be his Valentine, and she happily states that the relationship has potential.
Michelle tells her other friends about her blind date and then goes out to dinner with Sean, and the two banter about the concept of "metrosexuality" before agreeing to a second date. The women then write down their feelings on their recent dates, discussing what they've learned and expressing their hopes for their current suitors. Includes commercials and promos.
