One in this series of morning radio shows featuring the team of Kevin (Kevin Ryder) & Bean (Gene Baxter) on KROQ-FM in Los Angeles. This program, part one of three, originates from the radio studio at The Museum of Television & Radio in New York as part of a tie-in to the MTV Music Awards held nearby at Radio City Music Hall. Highlights include: Lisa May opens with the Los Angeles traffic report; Kevin and Bean play "Just Another Day" by Oingo Boingo; the program's sound board operator, Jay "Lightning" Tilles, talks about the Halloween concert with Oingo Boingo, which supposedly will be their last concert; in their regular segment called "What's Your Deal? the hosts take phone calls from listeners who talk about the incredible amount of hype surrounding Cal Ripken, Jr., breaking the Major League Baseball record for consecutive games played and the notion of rating New York City's strip bars instead of other tourist attractions; next there's a news report from Boyd "Doc on the Roq" Britton and a sports report with Jimmy "The Sports Guy" Kimmel; Kevin and Bean play "Come Down" by Bush and "If You Leave" by Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark; the segment on entertainment news includes gossip from the MTV Music Video Awards show, former Playboy Playmate Anna Nicole Smith's X-rated home video with her bodyguard, supermodel Cindy Crawford's thoughts on doing sex scenes in the movies, and news of the O.J. Simpson trial; the disc jockeys then play "Basket Case" by Green Day and interview Dennis Miller, who is hosting the award show; they play "Disarm" by the Smashing Pumpkins and an interview with Rob Zombie, the lead singer of the group White Zombie, during the rehearsal at Radio City Music Hall; they play "A Girl Like You" by Edwin Collins and then check-in with Michael "The Maintenance Man" Burton, who is driving around Los Angeles giving away tee-shirts and bumper stickers; next they play "Lump" by the Presidents of the United States of America and "Smells Like Teen Spirit" by Nirvana; there is a beach report with "Rockin' Fig"; Kevin and Bean play "Name" by the Goo Goo Dolls; CBS sports commentator Pat O'Brien drops by to say hello; and the hosts play "I Wanna Be Sedated" by the Ramones.
