Summary
One in this series of Spanish-language talk shows that
invites listeners to ask questions about sex they may
not have had the courage to ask before. The two hosts,
sex educator Claudia Liliana Campos and journalist Mario
Sol, start off by thanking listeners for their letters
and encouragement. Next, they introduce the theme of
this edition, pornography -- its place in society, in
the intimate life of a couple, and in Latin-American
culture. Liliana Campos suggests that pornography has
both positive and negative aspects and observes that
Latin-American culture in particular has placed a stigma
on pornography. She argues that, as long as pornography
does not involve violence or minors, it may help couples
further explore their sexuality. She does warn, however
that pornography is merely physical and is therefore
devoid of any emotion. She and Sol then welcome calls.
Most of the callers appear intrigued by pornography but
wonder whether it may harm their relationships. They
are advised that, as long as the members of a couple
communicate and decide together whether to use it,
pornography should not threaten a relationship. The
hosts go on to address additional topics related to
pornography, including addiction to pornography and
teenagersÕ view of pornography. They also touch on
other themes brought up by callers, such as sex
addiction, masturbation, extramarital relations,
circumcision, and sexually transmitted diseases.
Liliana Campos concludes by encouraging the audience to
respect the values of others, to avoid judging people
who use pornography in a harmless way, and most of all
to cherish their relationships with those they love and
to nurture those relationships through communication.
