CHILD'S WORLD: IMAGINARY PLAYMATE (RADIO) .
Summary
One in this series of topical conversations between Helen Parkhurst and her guests, New York City children from all walks of life. Discussions are unrehearsed and Miss Parkhurst probes children for their own points of view. In this program, children describe their imaginary playmates and tell under what circumstances they devise these invisible friends. They discuss whether their mothers knew about imaginary playmates, what problems in real life the imaginary playmates help to solve, and what pleasing characteristics imaginary playmates have that no real friends could ever have. The children agree that imaginary playmates are more beneficial than harmful. (This broadcast has no formal opening or closing.)
