CHEERS: I DO AND ADIEU {FIFTH SEASON FINALE} (TV)
Summary
One in this comedy series about a group of regulars at a Boston bar. In this episode, Sumner Sloane disrupts Sam and Diane's wedding preparations and tells Diane that her incomplete novel might be published, but she ignores him when he attempts to break up the engagement. While Diane and Sam have tea in their dream house, Sam fantasizes that he and Diane are an elderly couple still in love. As the wedding ceremony begins, Carla sobs profusely, but a phone call interrupts the ceremony, bringing news that Diane's book is going to be published. Sam halts the proceedings and suggests that Diane attempt to fulfill her goal before getting married, and she agrees, promising to return in six months. Following this episode is an alternate ending in which Sam and Diane get into an argument during the ceremony and their future turns out differently. Commercials deleted.
