ANYTHING BUT LOVE: FEAR OF FLYING {SERIES PREMIERE} (TV)
Summary
The pilot in this comedy series about Marty Gold and Hannah Miller, reporters for Chicago Weekly Magazine, who begin a platonic relationship but realize that their feelings run deeper. In this episode, Marty Gold meets Hannah Miller on a plane ride to Chicago. Marty is making a scene because he hates to fly and Hannah lends a hand in calming his nerves. She realizes who he is and she begins to tell him about her dream of becoming a writer. Interested, Marty mentions that interviews for the researcher position are being conducted for his magazine and that he would help Hannah get one because she helped him survive the flight. Norman Keil, the hard-nosed editor of the magazine, gives Hannah a chance to earn the job: she must write a two-thousand-word story on whether the city of Chicago prefers corn or flour tortillas, due the following day, first thing in the morning. Hannah, discouraged and ready to give up her dream and go back to teaching, is visited by Marty, who helps her out with an idea for this ridiculous story. After finding a different angle for the story, Keil is impressed and Hannah gets the job and the desk right across from Marty. This program is closed-captioned. Includes commercials.
