FATHER KNOWS BEST: CALYPSO BUD (TV)
Summary
One in this comedy series about the Anderson family -- Jim and Margaret and their children Betty, Bud, and Kathy. In this episode, Bud learns to play the bongos in order to get attention at a party. When Bud is invited to a party by a classmate named Jeanie, he acquires a pair of bongos from his friend Claude and practices diligently. Jim and Margaret wonder why he is working so hard at it, until they learn that he is trying to outdo a boy who gets attention by performing magic tricks. Bud plans to go to the party and surprise everyone with his newfound skill, but when Jeanie asks him to tell Claude not to bring his bongos to the party, Bud is crushed and refuses to attend at all. Commercials deleted. (Network affiliation varies; this series also aired on CBS from 1954-1955, and from 1958-1960.)
