Summary
One in this dramatic anthology series. This feature film is a chilling account of a small community struggling to survive the aftermath of a nuclear attack. Focusing on the fate of Carol Wetherly and her family, the drama depicts ordinary people fighting valiantly to survive the severe, lethal effects of radiation poisoning and slow starvation. Unsure of whether her husband has survived, Carol is left alone with her three children and protects and guides them through their final days. For her performance in this film, Jane Alexander earned an Academy Award nomination. (Due to the disturbing subject matter, a discretionary viewing statement precedes the program.)
