DICK VAN DYKE SHOW, THE: LOVE THY OTHER NEIGHBOR (TV)
Summary
One in this series of comedy programs about the personal and professional life of Rob Petrie, the head comedy writer for television's "Alan Brady Show." In this episode, Laura and Rob discover that the Helpers are jealous of their relationship with their new neighbors, the Staggs. Mrs. Staggs is an old friend of Laura's from grammar school. Millie watches the two of them reminisce and feels neglected. Then Jerry invites the Petries and the Staggs over for dinner and is dismayed to learn that the two couples already have plans that evening. Rob had gotten four free tickets to a musical and did not invite Jerry since he knew he would hate the show. Unfortunately, Jerry is too hurt to understand. Realizing that the Helpers are jealous of his and Laura's friendship with the Staggs, Rob acquires two more tickets for the musical so that the three couples can go out together. As the week progresses the Staggs and the Helpers become friends and Rob and Laura are shocked to find that the tables have turned, leaving them feeling neglected. Includes commercials.
