FAMILY TIES: MY TUTOR (TV)
Summary
One in this comedy series about the Keaton family -- Elyse and Steven, two aging ex-hippies, and their conservative, materialistic children. In this episode, Alex hires a tutor to help him raise his advanced geometry grade above an eighty-nine. Unfortunately, the thirteen-and-a-half-year-old mathematical genius, Eugene, cannot concentrate when he falls for Jennifer. Jennifer, put off by Eugene's adult mannerisms, refuses to go out with him. Alex, who is not making any progress in his tutoring sessions, bribes the reluctant Jennifer to go out with Eugene, and Alex and his girlfriend Ellen double date with the young pair. They attend a tenure party for the boy's geometry professor, but, while there, Eugene throws a temper tantrum, embarrassed that Jennifer talks and acts like a child. Apologetic and abashed, Eugene returns to the Keaton home to apologize to Jennifer, who then begins to like the immature side of Eugene. In the meantime, Steven harasses the family about keeping a strict budget. Commercials deleted. This program is closed-captioned.
