MIAMI VICE: DUTY AND HONOR {A.K.A. THE SAVAGE} (TV)
Summary
One in this series of police dramas concerning Sonny Crockett and Ricardo Tubbs, undercover detectives for the Miami vice squad. In this episode, Lt. Castillo realizes that a series of prostitute murders in Miami matches the modus operandi of killings in Vietnam years ago. Castillo and his friend Trang investigated the original murders and were unable to catch the killer who, it turns out, went on to kill six prostitutes in a different country each year. When the vice squad detectives realize that each series of murders was followed by the assassination of a politician with real or suspected communist leanings, the investigation becomes even more urgent. Politican Juan Espinoza, rumored to be a communist, refuses to cancel a public appearance in spite of the vice squad's warnings. Castillo's team work the streets and finally finds a suspect whom they are able to trace to the head of security for Espinoza's speech. When the case is finally solved, Castillo's friend Trang disappears mysteriously, leaving only a brief letter of explanation. Commercials deleted.
