Summary
The first season of this reality-based series about the exploits of seven strangers chosen by MTV to share rent-free lodging in a loft in Manhattan and to be followed around by camera crews for several months. In this program the following events occur: Norman is at an awkward stage of his relationship with Charles; Julie meets a homeless woman, Darlene, while she's walking the dog in the park; Julie inquires if she can spend the night with Darlene to understand what it's like being homeless; Norman, along with the others, has been keeping a close eye on the presidential campaign of Jerry Brown; Norman, Heather, and Julie venture to Washington, D.C., to attend the Pro-Choice rally going on there; Norman runs into Charles at the rally; Kevin debates with a class at New York University about the issue of abortion; Darlene tells Julie what she did with some of the money from her welfare check; Norman talks about the many prejudices he encountered while in high school because of his homosexuality; and Julie goes to Darlene's church on Easter Sunday to listen to her sing in the choir, but Darlene is not there. Includes a promo for the next episode of "The Real World."
