NYPD BLUE: MOBY GREG {FOURTH SEASON PREMIERE} (TV)

Summary

One in this series of rough-edged police dramas about the cases and private lives of the detectives and station house personnel of a Manhattan precinct. In this episode, a trunk is found with a dead body in it and the detectives realize that the trunk was deliberately moved into their jurisdiction. A bus driver gives the detectives some information regarding where and when the trunk was first seen and they begin their investigation. Meanwhile, Medavoy can't believe how much weight he's gained and is determined to start a diet as soon as possible. He is angry that Sipowicz has backed-out of their plan to diet together but Sipowicz is preoccupied with the health of his baby. Martinez is awestruck by the new civilian aide and wishes she worked in the detectives' department. Simone is planning to ask Russell to marry him on their next date, but he isn't sure if it is the right time to ask her. Sipowicz and Simone are heading to the apartment of a possible suspect when a chase ensues. The suspect shoots at Sipowicz, and Sipowicz freezes when he realizes that his son could have grown up without a father if he had been hit by the bullet. While the detectives are canvassing the neighborhood, a woman drops a hint to Sipowicz about how to get their suspects for the murder case. Simone and Sipowicz talk with a neighborhood kid who knows about the murder and the people involved. The first suspect is brought in and promptly tells them who the shooter is. When shooter is arrested, he turns out to be the same man who shot at Sipowicz. The two find themselves alone in the interview room and Sipowicz gives the suspect the opportunity to finish the job on him. As the day is ending, Simone is confronted by a man who is angry that an inheritance was left to Simone and not to him. Includes commercials, promos, and public service announcements. This program is closed-captioned.
