
SESAME STREET {MILES'S ADOPTION} (TV)
Summary
One in this series of educational children's programs
that teaches numbers and the alphabet, along with social
and cultural concepts, to pre-schoolers. Set on the
fanciful urban block of Sesame Street, the series
features Jim Henson's live-action Muppets, animation,
short films, and a cast of adults and children. In this
program, Zoe learns about adoption as Susan, Gordon, and
Miles celebrate Miles's adoption day with a party.
Other highlights include: an operatic ode to the letter
L; a song about paper clips sung by Bert; a song titled
"Shake Your Rattle and Roll" sung by three Muppet
babies; an animated demonstration of the concepts
"light" and "heavy"; an animated segment about being a
big kid; a game that asks what sound a duck makes; an
animated segment in which a child raps a song about the
number Fifteen; a demonstration of the word surprise by
Elmo and Tim Robbins; a phonics lesson with the ending
"un"; a "News Flash" with Kermit the Frog; a
demonstration of "front" and "back" by girls on a
playground; a segment about a girl in the circus; a clip
about a girl and her grandfather; and an animated
segment in Spanish. This program is sponsored by the
letter L and the number Fifteen. As the show concludes,
Big Bird presents coming attractions of the next
episode.
