Summary
One in this series of lavish, vaudeville-inspired weekly variety programs. Guest host, Victor Borge, who presides over this show, opens with a comedy routine featuring piano safety features. Highlights include the following: The Scots Guards perform a traditional Highland dance and bagpipe number; Jayne Meadows interviews corrupt politician, "Senator Philip Buster" (portrayed by her husband Steve Allen); The King Family sings a medley of patriotic songs about the fifty United States; the four Gimma Brothers perform their acrobatic act; Jayne Meadows, Steve Allen, and Victor Borge take on the guise of classical musicians and perform a comical musical number about rock 'n' roll; rock band Dino (Martin, Jr.), Desi (Arnaz, Jr.) and Billy perform "My, What a Shame"; Jayne Meadows wears a Geisha-like costume to sing and dance in a Chinese-inspired version of "Hello, Dolly!"; Victor Borge plays Rachmaninoff's Piano Concerto No. 1 to the accompaniment of the Mitchell Ayres Orchestra.
