OZ: ESCAPE FROM OZ {SECOND SEASON FINALE} (TV)
Summary
One in this series of dramas set in Oswald Maximum Security Penitentiary, nicknamed "Oz." In this episode, Rebadow and Busmalis lose their tunnel to Mack and his cellmate and they then plan to start another escape tunnel in a different cell. A new guard, Karl Metzger, arrives at Em City and he has a strong connection to the Aryan population. Metzger's first order of duty is transferring Rebadow and Busmalis into Mack's cell in order for Mack and his Aryan partner to escape. However, because of the weakened support beams, the tunnel collapses and kills Mack and his partner. Rebadow and Busmalis claim they were forced to dig the tunnel upon orders from the Aryan prisoners. Meanwhile, Poet devises a simple but dangerous plan for escape. Father Sippel returns to speak with Sister Marie about life on the outside as a known child sex offender. Father Ray decides to hire Sippel as his assistant even though Ray is still uncomfortable with Sippel's crime. Schillinger asks Metzger for some time alone with Sippel in order to teach the ex-convict a lesson. Later, a guard is heard screaming and is found with his eyes gauged out. A blood transfusion is needed to save the guard's life but the only person who has a matching blood type is O'Reilly. McManus begs O'Reilly to donate his blood, but O'Reilly says he'll only do it if his brother Cyril is released back into the general population. Alvarez is holding Father Ray hostage while he figures out why he nearly killed the guard. As Ray tries to calm Alvarez down, promising he'll protect him from any harm, the guards storm Ray's office and forcibly take Alvarez away. O'Reilly explains why he must have Cyril with him, and then admits that he told Cyril to kill Gloria's husband. Beecher is thrilled when his lover Chris comes back to Em City, but Chris wants nothing to do with Beecher anymore. It turns out that Chris and Schillinger have plans to push Beecher mentally over the edge. McManus is starting to have doubts about Metzger after Beecher is severely beaten. Jara tells Adebisi that he must change his ways and get in touch with his background if he wants to survive. Nappa decides that Jara needs to be taken care of, especially since Adebisi seems lost in his own world which is ruining the drug flow into Oz. In a business deal with Nappa, Kenny kills Jara and Adebisi is detained for the killing. McManus tells Said that Governor Devlin is granting him a full pardon because of his work in molding prisoners into decent people. At the press conference, Said refuses Devlin's pardon and the rest of Em City feels triumphant upon the announcement. While the celebration ensues, Poet prepares for his daring escape.
