NEWSRADIO: DAYDREAM (TV)
Summary
One in this series of comedies about the employees of WNYX, an all-news radio station in New York City. In this episode, the staff has daydreams when the air-conditioning goes on the fritz. Each daydream is followed by a scene that depicts the reality from which it tries to escape. The staff is told to think of new programming for the drive-time slot because the ratings have dropped and station owner Mr. James has suggested the station play an old-time radio program instead. Bill has repeated daydreams about seducing all the women on the staff, and Joe imagines that he has turned the staff members into robots. Lisa dreams that she has outsmarted Dave about how to deal with Mr. James, and Beth, who has stayed up late watching scary movies with Matthew, keeps imagining that he is the lead character from various horror movies. Catherine dreams that the station employs a diverse staff, and the snack-cart man, Howie, dreams that he is the center of attention. In Matthew's only daydream, he imagines that Bill and Catherine passionately kiss. The program ends with an elaborate daydream on the part of Mr. James. Commercials deleted.
