PUSH, NEVADA: THE AMOUNT {SERIES PREMIERE} (TV)
Summary
The premiere in this mystery series in which IRS agent Jim Prufrock travels to the remote desert town of Push, Nevada, seeking one million dollars that have gone missing. In this episode, a nearly frozen, naked man cracks the Versailles Casino's heat-sensory protected safe and gets away with a large sum of money. Meanwhile, IRS agent Jim Prufrock receives a strange fax from Silas Bodnick alerting him to missing money due to some "cooking of the books" at the Versailles. Prufrock calls Silas immediately who claims to have never sent the fax. Intrigued, Prufrock heads to Push where his car breaks down and he holes up in a fleabag motel. His first night in town, he goes to Sloman's slow-dance bar where he meets the intriguing Mary. The next day, at the casino, Prufrock charges into Bodnick's office and questions the agitated man about the missing money. Meanwhile, two unidentified, mysterious people watch all the happenings in town from a giant bank of surveillance camera monitors. Later that day, men from Watermark, the company that owns the Versailles, come after Bodnick who escapes. Bodnick calls Prufrock, finally willing to squeal. When Prufrock arrives at Bodnick's secret location, Silas pulls a gun on him, before a masked man stabs Bodnick dead and lights the house ablaze. Includes commercials.
