DREAM ON: BLAME IT ON REO (TV)

Summary

One in this comedy series about a publishing company employee named Martin Tupper whose thoughts become animated through black-and-white clips of old television shows. In this episode, Eddie reports to Martin and Jeremy that Reo Saunders, a teenage television star, is going to be on his show the next day. A big fan, Jeremy really wants to attend the taping and finally convinces his father to let him skip school to go. Watching Reo suggestively put icing on a cake during the program, Jeremy is aroused. Afterward, Jeremy introduces himself to Reo and the two are soon making out. When Jeremy returns to an impatient Martin's side, his face and shirt collar are covered in Reo's lipstick. Needing a place for his quickly scheduled date with Reo, Jeremy convinces Eddie to let him use his empty bachelor pad. That evening, while Eddie and Martin hang at a sports bar, Reo handcuffs a nearly naked Jeremy to Eddie's headboard. Then, Reo gets a phone call from her producer that she's needed on the set. She leaves Jeremy alone, unfulfilled and still manacled. At the same time, Martin and Eddie need to go back to Eddie's apartment when the surly bartender takes the game off the television. Eddie calls home to warn Jeremy about their shift in plans. The still-restrained Jeremy can't get to the phone, and efforts to pick up the receiver with his feet prove useless; the white tube socks he's wearing prevent getting any traction. At the apartment, Eddie finds Jeremy and uncuffs him, then tries to spirit him out. However, Martin sees his son and realizes what transpired. Martin grounds Jeremy and is furious at Eddie. The next day, Eddie comes to Whitestone to apologize to Martin, but Martin tells him he is the last one that should be offering parenting advice. Regardless, Eddie's words have an effect on Martin. That night, with Jeremy still angry at his father, Martin tries to be friendly and let him address any questions about sex. However, Martin is the one who's in for an education when Jeremy truly opens up on the subject.
