TRUE COLORS: PRESUMED GUILTY (TV)
Summary
One in this Baltimore-based comedy series about an interracial marriage and the blended family it creates. In this episode, Sara fantasizes about her dream life -- without Ron, Terry, and Lester. Ellen finds a special electric razor Ron's been looking for and has to sprint across town to get it. Meanwhile, Sara tries to figure out how to get to her mahjong game. After Terry turns her down, she is forced to ask Ron for a ride to Sadie's place. Ron says he's too tired. When Sara exits the house alone to get a cab, she trips and falls on the steps. Now, Sara is determined to sue Ron with the help of her conniving nephew Marvin. The sleazy lawyer thinks he can make an ugly lawsuit totaling $250,000. Ron is angered that he has to go to court to face charges from his mother-in-law, who arrives at the trial fully bandaged and in a wheelchair. However, Ron is excited to see that the judge is a black woman -- until she notes that she has never believed in interracial marriage. Marvin calls Terry to the stand as his first witness and Terry's fear of perjury causes him to implicate his father. Later, Marvin appeals to Katie's feminist side in order to get her in Sara's corner. Next, Lester takes the stand and gets duped into criticizing his father. Ultimately, Ellen takes the stand to discuss the family's dynamics -- and accidentally damns Ron. That night, Ellen and the kids sit around, shocked at how they all may be guilty of causing Ron to lose his case. The next day, Ron calls his first and only witness, Sara. He tries to reveal her racist side, but Sara acts like she has never had problems with her daughter marrying Ron. Finally, Ron figures out a way to get Sara to throw away her case. Commercials deleted.
