BIG LOVE: ROBERTA'S FUNERAL (TV)
Summary
One in this drama series about polygamist Bill Henrickson, who has three wives, three families, and three houses in a Salt Lake City suburb. In this episode, Bill tries to impregnate Nicki, not realizing that she's secretly on the pill. Lois attends the wake of Frank's first wife, Roberta, and pleads with him to be promoted from second wife to his new legal wife. Frank spurns her entreaties. Bill, too, heads to Juniper Creek to attend Roberta's funeral. Meanwhile, Nicki and Barb bond a bit, with Nicki revealing that she no longer thinks Bill is seeing "a fourth." Also, Ben tries to repair Margene's clogged sink and engages in an awkward flirtation. While in Juniper Creek, Bill helps out his mother, inquires about Joey's health, and learns that his grumpy father is angered at the audacity of Lois. Bill also asks Joey if he's been involved in any of the land sales pending in a lawsuit against Roman. Back home, Barb reveals to a friend that she's having an "affair" -- sneaking around with her own husband. Meanwhile, Margene innocently invites a neighbor over, raising Ben's ire. The next day, Bill meets with Roman, trying to settle their dispute once and for all. With Ben unable to fix Margene's garbage disposal, Nicki decides to go against Bill's wishes and head to Henrickson Home Plus to get a replacement part. While trying to check out, Nicki gets in a dispute with a check-out cashier and trouble ensues. After Roberta's funeral, Bill works another deal with Frank, giving him money to make Lois his official wife. At the same time, Barb is forced to go to Home Plus to rescue Nicki. Afterward, Barb and Nicki get into an argument about the household schedule and whether Barb is okay with Nicki having another baby. A delighted Lois then calls Bill to tell him about Frank's "change of heart." Bill finally returns home for the day, where he finds Ben in need of a heart-to-heart talk.
