65 REVISITED: OUTTAKES FROM DONT LOOK BACK {SIXTY-FIVE REVISITED: OUTTAKES FROM DONT LOOK BACK} (TV)

Summary

This is a collection of outtakes from D.A. Pennebaker's 1967 Bob Dylan film "Dont Look Back," which chronicled Dylan's 1965 concert tour of England. The program begins with Dylan flying out of New York and performing "Don't Think Twice, It's All Right" after landing in London. Next, clips shows Dylan discussing how much "rabbit fur" (money) he makes per year, why he wears dark glasses, and getting photographed. Then, clips show Dylan and Joan Baez harmonizing in an impromptu jam session, as Dylan's manager Albert Grossman weighs in on the touring schedule. Next, in Sheffield, Dylan rehearses "Love Minus Zero" before a concert. At the concert, Dylan performs "To Ramona." Then, in Liverpool, fans talk about having seen Dylan and received his autograph. Next, Dylan performs "It's All Over Now, Baby Blue." Then, in a clip, Dylan tries on a fan's "Bob Dylan hat" while sitting in his car, then hands it back, saying "It's too small." Next, Dylan sits at a piano and performs "It Takes a Lot to Laugh, It Takes a Train to Cry." Dylan tells fans in a hallway why he wants to avoid "gimmicks" in his performances. Then, in Leicester, Dylan performs "The Lonesome Death of Hattie Carroll." Next, Dylan discusses what he sees in his future. Then Baez performs "What A Friend We Have in Jesus" as Dylan types out some lyrics. Then, Dylan performs "Remember Me (When the Candle Lights are Gleaming)" in harmony with Baez. Next, in Birmingham, Dylan performs "It's Alright, Ma (I'm Only Bleeding)." In Newcastle, Dylan walks the streets, discusses his evening's agenda with Grossman, then goes clothes shopping with Donovan and Grossman, among others, before performing "It Ain't Me, Babe." Next, in Manchester, Dylan plays with a new camera in his hotel room before performing "If You Gotta Go, Go Now" on stage. Then, back in London, Dylan has a conversation with Nico, Alan Price, and Grossman about "style," then discusses possible "escape routes" from a hotel room with Grossman and Donovan. While Dylan is rehearsing, Allen Ginsberg stops in and shows his tickets for that night's concert. Finally, Dylan goes on stage to perform "She Belongs to Me." In yet another hotel room, Dylan performs "I'll Keep It With Mine" as Nico listens. After the end credits "Subterranean Homesick Blues" plays as Dylan holds and shuffles cards containing the song's lyrics.
