DESILU PLAYHOUSE: THE TIME ELEMENT (TV)

Summary

One in this anthology series, hosted by Desi Arnaz. In this production, William Bendix plays Pete Jenson, a man troubled by a recurring dream in which he finds himself in Honolulu on December 6, 1941, hours before the attack on Pearl Harbor. Jenson recounts his dream to a psychiatrist, Dr. Gillespie. In it, he finds himself trying to warn various people at Pearl Harbor about the impending Japanese attack, but no one will believe him. When planes begin to fly over the base, he wakes up. Jenson becomes convinced that it is not a dream, that he is in fact traveling back in time, and that at some point the dream will not end with the planes flying over. Dr. Gillespie tries to explain that time travel is impossible, but Jenson offers evidence to back up his assertion. After Jenson falls asleep on Dr. Gillespie's couch and begins the dream anew, the psychiatrist makes a disturbing discovery. Commercials deleted.
