The Art of Talk: The Merv Griffin Show—A Look Back

Dec 10, 2014
7:00 PM PT
Los Angeles

During its remarkable 1962–86 run, The Merv Griffin Show chronicled more than two decades of entertainment, politics, and culture demonstrating how Griffin dug deeper than most daily TV talk show hosts. With charm, charisma, and intellect, Griffin gathered everyone from Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and Robert Kennedy to Richard Pryor and Salvador Dali on his stage. The affable host also possessed a prescient eye for new talent, hosting the television debut of Whitney Houston in 1983, and giving a stellar list of comics from Jay Leno to Bill Maher some of their earliest platforms. Now upon the release of a revelatory twelve-DVD retrospective released by MPI Home Video and produced by Reelin’ In The Years Productions, join us for a special screening and conversation highlighting this most unique of talk shows.

A limited amount of FREE tickets are available for Paley Center Members. RSVP now.
