Dirty Dancing: The New ABC Musical Event

In celebration of the 1987 movie classic’s thirtieth anniversary, Dirty Dancing, the global pop-culture phenomenon, becomes an all-new three-hour filmed musical event with a stellar cast and creative team this season on ABC, produced by Lionsgate and Allison Shearmur Productions. The tender romance of Frances "Baby" Houseman and Johnny Castle set during an unforgettable summer vacation in the Catskills is sure to delight a new generation of fans as well as ignite fond memories from the original classic. Dirty Dancing will feature the memorable songs from the original movie plus additional songs from the era that will showcase the dynamic musical talents of its ensemble cast. The Paley Center will present a premiere screening followed by a sure-to-be lively conversation with members of the cast in advance of the ABC Television Network premiere on May 24.
