Shari Redstone

Shari Redstone is a media executive with a wide-ranging background in numerous aspects of the entertainment industry and related ventures. She currently serves as President of National Amusements, as well as Vice-Chair of CBS and Viacom.

Ms. Redstone is Cofounder and Managing Partner of Advancit Capital, an investment firm launched in 2011 which focuses on early stage companies at the intersection of media, entertainment and technology. Advancit is an investor in more than 75 companies. Ms. Redstone is Co-Chairman of MovieTickets.com and a member of the Board of Directors and Executive Committee for the National Theatre Owners Association.

Ms. Redstone earned a BS from Tufts University, a JD and a Masters in Tax Law from Boston University. She practiced corporate law, estate planning and criminal law in the Boston area before joining National Amusements.   

Ms. Redstone is actively involved in a variety of charitable, civic, and educational organizations. She is a member of the Board of Directors at Combined Jewish Philanthropies and the John F. Kennedy Library Foundation, and sits on the Board of Trustees at Dana Farber Cancer Institute.  Most recently, Ms. Redstone joined the Legal Services Corporation’s Leaders Council, which seeks to raise awareness of the crisis in civil legal aid and secure equal access to justice. She is also on the Local Advisory Board and Executive Committee for BUILD, a non-profit organization which uses entrepreneurship to propel low income youth through high school and into college.

Jon Miller
Partner, Advancit Capital

Jonathan Miller is a partner at Advancit Capital and Chairman of Indigenous Media. He was the chief digital officer and chairman and CEO, Digital Media Group for News Corporation, a role in which he drove the company's overall digital strategy in conjunction with various operational heads, while also directly overseeing all of News Corp.'s standalone digital businesses.

He also acted as News Corp.'s principal executive for Hulu. Previously, Jon was chairman and CEO of AOL, where he led the company to a record annual profit growth of 21 percent, and increased online advertising growth-the centerpiece of its new business model-by 46 percent in 2006. Jon was a founding partner of Velocity Interactive Group, an investment firm focusing on digital media and the consumer Internet space. He is a cofounder of Fuel Media Commerce, which focused on early stage investments.

Jon is on the board of Trip Advisor (audit), Shutterstock (nominating and governance), Open X (chair), and Houghton Mifflin Harcourt. In addition, he serves as a nonprofit director/trustee for the American Film Institute, BBC Global News, International Emmy Association, Independent Film Project, and The Paley Center for Media.
