New York Premiere: American Masters: Jerome Robbins: Something to Dance About

Oct 23, 2008
6:30 – 9:15 PM ET
New York

Director/choreographer Jerome Robbins transformed dance on Broadway (West Side Story, Fiddler on the Roof) and in the concert hall (The New York City Ballet). This compelling two-hour documentary by Emmy Award–winning filmmaker Judy Kinberg and written by best-selling Robbins biographer Amanda Vaill examines his unparalleled artistry and ruthless perfectionism, as well as the controversies that plagued his life. Kinberg uncovers never-before-seen rehearsal footage and interviews many of his esteemed colleagues, including Mikhail Baryshnikov, Suzanne Farrell, Jacques D'Amboise, and Chita Rivera. American Masters is produced for PBS by Thirteen/WNET New York.
