Community’s return for a fourth season was one of TV’s most eagerly anticipated, as die-hard fans—and Community fans don’t seem to come in any other variety—endured the long wait for the new term at Greendale Community College, with the curriculum now coming from new showrunners David Guarascio and Moses Port. While Community has weathered personnel changes both in front of the camera and behind the scenes since the study group last convened (Chevy Chase’s Pierce Hawthorne and creator Dan Harmon have graduated to other projects), the remaining Human Beings continue to dazzle as one of television’s all-time great comedy ensembles, and the show’s status as the most formally daring comedy on TV remains unchallenged.
