Relive the Work of Women Who Broke Barriers and Defied Expectations
The Paley Center for Media is proud to celebrate Women’s History Month and International Women's Day with a virtual tribute to those who have created some of the most unforgettable women-led stories in television history. Through the years, the Paley Center has uplifted and preserved the work of the women who broke barriers and defied expectations in their fields: Creators like Shonda Rhimes (Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story), Amy Sherman-Palladino (The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel), Ava DuVernay (Queen Sugar), Misha Green (Lovecraft Country), and Gloria Calderon Kellett (One Day at a Time); stars like Christina Ricci (Yellowjackets), Jean Smart (Hacks), Cynthia Erivo (Harriet), Cate Blanchett (Mrs. America), and Anya Taylor Joy (The Queen’s Gambit); newsmakers like Hoda Kotb and Maria Hinojosa; and trailblazers like Debra Lee, Janie Bryant, Misty Copeland, and Rita Moreno. They are just a few of the many women who have challenged social norms, told memorable stories, and moved audiences.
