Jean Viry-Babel
xRapid
Jean Viry-Babel, 50 years old, is a French entrepreneur, co-founder and CEO of the French-based international start-up xRapid Group.
Jean Viry-Babel holds an MBA in IT management from the University of Dallas and a Master's degree in communication from the University of Nancy. He began his career in 1994 at Publicis as a consultant. He continued in multinational companies such as SAP, the world leader in management software packages, then became head of international sales, partnerships and development consultant at Ness, a digital solutions company.
After 10 years of experience in France, Jean Viry-Babel developed his career internationally and moved to London in 2001 where he joined Accenture as a banking compliance specialist.
June 11, 2011 marks a turning point for the French entrepreneur. After 8 days in a coma, he discovers that he has Berger's disease: an autoimmune disease that has gradually destroyed the functionality of both his kidneys and will force him to receive a transplant - for which he will find the perfect match.
Eager to embark on new professional adventures, Jean Viry-Babel turns 180 and becomes an entrepreneur. That's how xRapid Group came into being in 2015. Co-founded with the help of Apple, with Professor David Mendels and Lord Jim Knight (British politician and member of the House of Lords), xRapid Group is an international start-up present in France, Great Britain, the United States and China and leader in the automated AI diagnosis of fibres in the air. In 2020, guided by the desire to bring its technology to the service of health in order to improve our living conditions, xRapid Goup creates its blood test device and Covid-19 xRBlood and its intelligent and connected xHale (wearable) mask. Two technologies awarded at CES 2021.
Recognised for his leadership, in-depth knowledge of the market and commercial performance, Jean Viry-Babel is also the head of French Square, the leading network of French-speaking entrepreneurs in London. Based on a desire to create a community, French Square regularly organises events to enable new French entrepreneurs to build a solid professional network in London. French Square has subsequently developed into a Franco-English investment fund that brings together Business Angels on both sides of the Channel and invests an average of between 1 and 5 million per year. As part of the same approach, he also created London Mag, a premium magazine covering London news, which has become the leader among London's French-speaking community.
With more than 25 years of entrepreneurial experience in the field of finance and start-ups, Jean Viry Babel has a keen eye on today's economy. He lives between London, Paris and Marseille. In August 2020, after having been an investor for many years, he became president of Estimeo, a platform for information, rating and valuation of startups.
