MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE: OLD MAN OUT {PART 2 OF 2} (TV)

Summary

One in this series of adventure dramas about the exploits of the Impossible Missions Force. Barney and Willy drive up near the prison in a cherry-picker posing as landscapers in order to receive Rollin, but Rollin signals to him from the roof that the plan has gone awry. Crystal flirts with the prison guard to continue her and Cinnamon’s deception. Dan informs the colonel that they intend to keep the troupe around longer, and he is highly suspicious of them, promising to keep watch on them. Dan is concerned about this and orders that the colonel be taken out of commission. He goes into the prison to visit Rollin, where they carry on another coded conversation. Dan returns and reports that Rollin conveyed that Vossek has been moved to solitary confinement and is beyond his reach. Dan reworks their plan to allow Rollin to escape the prison by himself. In solitary confinement, Vossek is questioned by a sympathetic captain who wishes to try to give Vossek more time, and is unwilling to use further violence against him as per his orders. Dan, disguised by the clown makeup Barney was using earlier, lures the colonel away during the circus performance and knocks him unconscious. Rollin makes his way to the roof while Barney makes it seem as though Crystal’s trapeze has malfunctioned, leaving her seemingly dangling for her life. This draws a great deal of attention, distracting the assembled crowd and the prison sentries. This gives Rollin enough time to climb down the side of the prison walls and hop the fence. Crystal manages to right herself while Dan, disguised in the colonel’s uniform, brings Rollin back to the prison. He reports Rollin to the prison staff and insists that he look after him personally, putting Rollin into a maximum-security area. They enter the prison, but the captain in charge is suspicious of them and calls the commandant. Once inside, Dan and Rollin are forced to knock out a pair of guards after they ask too many questions about their presence. They locate Vossek and release him from his cell, and while leading him out Dan answers a telephone call from the commandant. The commandant upbraids him for his conduct, but Dan retorts that he will meet with him about the apparent breach of security in the prison. Rollin leads Vossek to the roof as Barney and Willy set up the cherry-picker outside of the prison again. Crystal and Cinnamon drive up to distract the guard again. Dan knocks out another guard to allow Rollin and Vossek to reach the roof. Barney shoots a crossbow bolt from the top of the cherry-picker affixed to Crystal’s trapeze equipment, forming a makeshift zip-line from the prison to the outside. Crystal and Cinnamon stage a catfight to further distract the guard. The commandant makes inquiries as to Dan’s cover identity, suspicious of the earlier phone call. Rollin slides down the zip-line with Vossek hanging from his back, successfully escaping the prison. Barney and Willy hide them in the back of their truck. Dan attempts to slide down as well but the rope gets caught halfway through, leaving him dangling in midair. He manages to shimmy down the rope and get to the truck. Barney and Willy arrive to break up the catfight. While the private responds to a call from the prison office, Dan and the others get their equipment stowed away and drive off before the prison guards realize Vossek is missing, having successfully completed their mission. They continue driving until that night, when they come across a military checkpoint. Barney creates a distraction which allows them to pass just as the commandant calls in to order them stopped. They receive their orders too late and the IMF escapes with Vossek. Commercials deleted. (The second of two programs on this asset.
