ADDAMS FAMILY, THE: COLOR ME ADDAMS {SECOND SEASON PREMIERE} (TV)
Summary
The second season premiere in this series of cartoons about the bizarre and ghoulish members of the Addams family, whose household is presided over by the uniquely stylish and wealthy Gomez and Morticia. In this episode, the family decides to have a formal showing for their various works of art, though every gallery owner in town is appalled by their unusual and spooky content. Undeterred, the Addamses decide to have their own charity show event at home, though their straight-laced neighbors, the Normanmeyers, are outraged to hear that the "no-goodnik" Addams intend to display their oddball creations and vow to put a stop to the show.
Gomez grandly opens the charity show, with Granny telling Uncle Fester about her surprisingly effective "psychic art." Several other guests are startled when Morticia creates unusual portraits of their "inner selves." However, art critic Digby Corblarb soon arrives and proclaims the Addamses' work to be dreadful, vowing to write "the most scathing review of his career," much to the family's disappointment. Pleased, Normina attempts to deface Morticia's works, but Thing catches her in the act. Thing then unintentionally uses "living paint" on Morticia's canvas, bringing the image to life and sending mischievous gargoyles rampaging all over town. Thinking quickly, Morticia paints a "living" piano and Fester performs "the calling of the gargoyles" to summon all of the creatures back, and Corblarb is dazzled by Morticia's new work and proclaims that she must be celebrated as a hero of the art world. Morticia tries to give a frustrated Normina a gargoyle as a "present," and the family invites Corblarb and the cops to join them in a dance party. Includes commercials and promos.
