WHAT'S MY LINE? {MYSTERY GUEST: RAQUEL WELCH} (TV)

Summary

One in this series of panel game shows in which celebrity panelists engage in witty banter as they try to guess the unusual occupations of the guests. In this episode, host John Daly presides over a panel which includes actors Arlene Francis, George Grizzard, Phyllis Newman and Tony Randall. Employing only yes-or-no questions, they try to discover the vocations of Karen Hidalgo from New York, an orchestra conductor currently presiding over the Broadway production of "Illya Darling." Despite some initial confusion, the panelists guess Hidalgo's profession correctly. Next, the panelists question Walter Medrano of Ecuador, who makes easily-transportable hammocks, and they are unable to guess the right answer. After donning blindfolds, the panelists then attempt to guess the identity of this week's mystery guest: actress Raquel Welch. They come close to guessing correctly, informed by the audience's enthusiastic reaction to the glamorous star, but ultimately fail to get the right answer. Daly and the panelists then bid one another and the audience goodnight. Includes commercials.
