Summary

From Hollywood, one in this series of comedy/variety programs starring Bud Abbott and Lou Costello. This program features Abbott and Costello's characteristic repartee and puns. Throughout the program, Abbott tries to teach Costello the rules and philosophy of the baseball. Costello gets a telegram from baseball great Joe DiMaggio of the New York Yankees. DiMaggio invites Costello to sub for him while he recuperates from a foot operation. Highlights include the following: music director Skinnay Ennis sings "Linda"; puns about Bob Feller of the Cleveland Indians; Abbott and Costello shop for baseball equipment; Abbott and Costello try to buy a bat from Mrs. Wetwash; and Skinnay Ennis and his band and accompany the show's regular singer, Marilyn Maxwell, who sings "New Orleans." Concludes with Abbott and Costello and their "Who's On First...?" routine. Includes commercials for Camel cigarettes. (Series title and sponsorship varies.)
