LEGEND OF LOCHNAGAR, THE (TV)
Summary
This children's program combines live action and animation to tell this story written by His Royal Highness Prince Charles. The Prince of Wales also narrates this program about an old man who lives in a cave on Lochnagar mountain in the highlands of Scotland, where he enjoys peace and quiet. The bathtub he builds in his home, however, disturbs his new neighbors called gorms: these tiny creatures live beneath the earth and plant all the flowers in Scotland. The old man unwittingly floods their home, prompting some young gorms to use a new invention to shrink the old man down to their miniscule size. When the fire for the tub's hot water begins raging out of control, however, the old man and the gorms must unite to save the highlands from destruction. At the story's conclusion, Prince Charles plays the bagpipes for a group of children before he shrinks to the size of a tiny gorm.
