'WAY OUT: SOFT FOCUS (TV)

Summary

One in this fantasy/science fiction anthology series, hosted by Roald Dahl. In this episode, everyone working with portrait photographer Ronald Pell begins to notice strange phenomena surfacing around the office and darkroom. When dethroned box-office queen Dorothy Granger comes in to have her portrait taken, for example, she has large scars across her face from a recent accident. When she gets her proofs, however, her face looks the way it did when she was a successful leading lady -- both in the photos and in reality. A young child with a large birthmark across his face is taken by his mother to have a picture taken of him in his Sunday best. When their proofs come back, the birthmark is gone -- from the photos and the child's face. When Pell's wife starts to cheat on him with his assistant after she becomes suspicious of his late nights in the lab, Pell becomes wildly jealous and begins to get a little sloppy with his magical "re-touching formula." Includes commercials and promos. Promos include Jayne Mansfield and Spike Jones for "Person to Person."

Cataloged in honor of Gary Joseph and Reuben Joseph.
