LOU GRANT: SECT (TV)

Summary

One in this series of dramas about a Los Angeles newspaper, its staff, and city editor Lou Grant. In this episode, Charlie Hume and his wife, Marian, worry that they are losing their son to a religious cult. Charlie is distracted and moody at work and confides in Lou about his son, Tommy, whom he is convinced has been brainwashed by the Krishnas. Charlie bristles when others suggest that the sect may be aboveboard and Lou grows concerned when Charlie attempts to take drastic measures to regain his son, including trapping him into forced "deprogramming" session. Meanwhile, Billie and Rossi have difficulty working with Cavanaugh, and come to Lou for help. Commercials deleted. (Includes approximately three commercial blackouts.)
